What's next for Rapid Estimator

We're testing new ways to make Rapid Estimator more useful in the field while keeping the desktop program as the system of record. Rapid Field is an early phone-companion beta for capturing jobsite photos, measurements, and notes. Features and workflows may change as we test it with customers.

Photos, measurements, and notes

Camera stamps GPS and time. Speech-to-text notes when your hands are full. Measures and a jobsite pin so the office can see what was captured on site.

2 · Ballpark

An internal preliminary range—not a customer quote

Local pricing, markup, and tax while you are still on site. Final estimating and customer proposals stay in Rapid Estimator Desktop.

3 · Send to Rapid Estimator Desktop

Finish the detailed estimate in desktop

Send the captured job into Rapid Estimator Desktop for takeoff polish and proposals. Desktop remains the system of record.

Technical note for estimators

Field currently exports a job package file (05_JobPackage.xml) that Rapid Estimator Desktop imports via File → Import. Photos and measures travel with the package. Sharing can be email, Files, AirDrop, USB, or another file-transfer method you already use. This handoff is part of what we are testing and may change.
